About Wing Chun
Wing Chun Kung Fu is a chinese martial art that originated during the 18th century.
It is a direct descendant of the Shaolin Temple, and is characterized by the principle of the short path, simultanious attack and defense, as well as the use of strength and suppleness in combat, in order to overcome even a bigger, stronger opponent.
It was founded by a woman, Yim Wing Chun, who learned the style from Ung Mui, a woman monk from the Shaolin Temple.
The Orthodox branch, the one practiced in our school, differs somewhat from most other branches of Wing Chun, also know as modern Wing Chun, mostly from its more elaborate curriculum.
